exercise: request research

For this assignment, I would like you to incorporate what you know about Web design with what you know about research.

Please prepare a one-page, double-spaced summary of a research topic you feel is worthy of investigating. Your summary should include:

A research question. For example: What is the better navigation method for an audio slidshow: autoplay synced with the images or user-controlled next buttons?

A proposed method for how this test should be done. This does not have to be highly detailed, but it does have to be explained. For the question above you would explain that two versions of the same show would be created, one with each navigation method. Then you would propose what research methods would be used... Eyetracking, media effects, usability -- and what informaiton you hope to gain by using the methods you choose.

Describe how answering the question you propose will be important to working professionals in the area of multimedia design.
